Tracy Brennan is the founder and president of Trace Literary Agency, LLC. She received her B.A. from Indiana University’s College of Arts and Sciences and also received a certificate in secondary education from Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. Before opening the agency, Tracy taught at the secondary level for over eleven years and was the mens’ and womens’ diving coach at The University of Notre Dame.
Tracy decided to pursue her career as a literary agent after she saw a gap in the American market. Ireland’s Terry Prone played a key role in helping her get started. Having undergone a lengthy process of introduction and research, she was able to secure some of Ireland’s top contemporary writers.
Tracy has worked with Mercier Press, Ireland’s oldest independent publishing house, and is currently working with publisher Jo O’Donoghue of Londubh Books in Dublin helping to find the right fit in the American market for some of Londubh’s clients. She also acts as the American agent for The Communications Clinic in Dublin.
Trace Literary Agency is a small agency that allows us to offer our clients the personal attention we feel they deserve. We pride ourselves in finding the perfect home for high quality, well written books. Some of her clients include/have included Carmel Harrington, Terry Prone, Paul O’Brien, Tom Phelan, Caroline Busher, Joan Brady, Kevin Dwyer and Mary Hosty.
She is married to Matt who is a third generation dentist (with Irish roots in Clare and Kilkenny) and has one daughter, Grace.
